Rocky Mountain Lily or Wood Lily
Liliaceae (Lily Family)

A plant with one to three mostly red funnel-shaped flowers at the top of an erect, leafy stem. Flowers have 6 lanceolate petal-like segments, red or red-orange near the gently outwardly curved tips, yellowish and with purple spots near the base.

HISTORY: This colorful lily is in danger of extension because people pick the blossoms and thus prevent the production of seeds.

Late June to Early July
