Yellow Salsify
Asteraceae (Sun Flower)

Hollow stems, branched near the base, have a few long, narrow, tapered leaves and at the top a pale yellow head. It gives a milky sap when punctured.

HISTORY: The official name is Tragopogon dubius . Tragopogon is Greek for “goats Beard” probably referring to the thin, tapering tufted, grass-like leaves.
